Double Garage Conversions
Fortress Doors are one of the leading door companies in East Anglia. We have a skilled and professional team with many years of experience. Each job is different, some may require drainage, driveway repairs and depending on the pitch of the roof to which type of steel lintel is required, some jobs require brickwork whilst others require a facia.
When removing the centre pier the roof will be held up by Akros until the new lintel is in place, if the opening is more than 4.875m then fillers of either brick or timber will be built. Once the building work has been completed the door of your choice will be installed in 2/3 days. Costs do vary so a visit to site is required to survey and quote as necessary. Couldn’t have been happier with service and the product. From getting a quote to fitting was around a fortnight and we are so pleased with it.

Great company and staff!
They were on time and polite.
From the initial quote we even had the price reduced, because when the guys actually took the electric door apart it wasn't as bad as initially diagnosed.
I would definitely recommend this company and we will continue to get our garage door serviced by them.

Fantastic door - We are really pleased. Andy was very professional from start to finish, different to other quotes as he actually brought a van with different types of working doors in so you could actually see the quality and options available before making your decision. The guys that arrived to fit it were straight to work from the minute they arrived and finished leaving a very neat install. I’d 100% recommend these guys if you’re looking to upgrade. And the finished product is stunning, really finishes off the driveway.

I had my Roller Garage Door fitted in 2023 and it was first class service all the way through from ordering to fitting and up until now I have had no problems at all.
I had to call Fortress yesterday as it was 5pm and I had a problem with my door and I had an engineer come out to rectify the problem at 9am this morning.
The engineer was excellent, solved the problem quickly, and I even had a follow up call straight after the engineer left to check that I was completely happy, which I was, so I’m leaving this review as a happy customer of a company that provides a top class customer service not just at point of sale but with excellent aftercare which you don’t always get these days.
Please do not hesitate to use this friendly company for yourself as you will get a top quality product and top quality service and aftercare.

I needed a garage door installer which could also quote for the work needed to install a lintel.
Andy of Fortress offered advice & was able to adjust the original order to my preference with no hassle.
He was able to provide the lintel work with his trusted contractors Oliver Mathew Construction on the Monday & Andy’s team installed my electric garage door the next day as agreed.
Both teams were friendly, helpful & workmanship was excellent & both cleared up afterwards.
I needed a one stop service to avoid potential headaches & problems with dealing with separate companies & Fortress did this with a hassle free install.
Highly recommended.

Had an issue with our electric Roller Garage door fitted by Fortress Doors as it would not open with the remote. Contacted Andy last night who kindly rerouted his guys from their first job this morning to come to ours. They quickly identified it was an electrical supply problem. I expected to pay, as there was no fault with the door, but on thanking Andy for their excellent service he waived any charge. Great service from a great company.

Mark arrived on time, as agreed to convert my electric up and over garage door back to a manual operated door. The conversion took quite a bit longer than estimated but Mark completed the project with a smile. Despite the additional time, I was charged the original quoted amount for the job. Mark was a pleasure to deal with and I would strongly recommend Fortress Doors for any Garage project you may have.

Had our shutter doors fitted today. They turned up on time and worked hard all morning and finished within three hours and did a lovely job. A very professional service from quote to fitting. The door looks great I am very pleased with them and would recommend to anyone in the Colchester area.

From the time we accepted the quote to the completion on installing the garage door, Andy kept us informed of the progress of the door being made and when to expect the installation. Date agreed and the guys arrived and removed old door and installed the new roller door within 3 hrs including cleaning up completely.
